If you’re looking for a unique gift for a wedding, christening, birthday or anniversary, then look no further! You’ve found Kezzy Doodles!
I’m mum of one, Kerrie. I finds this it’s the perfect business to fit around my family. I can spend the days with my son and, at night when he’s in bed, I can either get the sketch pad out or get on the computer and do what I love – design, and cut paper.
I’ve always loved creating things from scratch, and want all designs to be my own. When I discovered papercutting (thanks to Paper Panda) I knew I’d found the perfect way to bring all my skills together. I find both creating the designs, whether on the computer or hand-drawn, and cutting them – always by hand, no machines involved – very therapeutic. A happy me, makes a happy family.
I spent years working as a sub-editor and an editorial designer on a national newspaper, and towards the end of my time there I was miserable, eventually leading to my decision to leave. I’ve had no money more often than not and had to work hard. Having my son gave me a huge kick up the bottom though. I’m not just doing this for me, I’m doing it for him now too. He’s given me the motivation I needed to build Kezzy Doodles up.
I sell a range of personalised hand-cut papercuts and templates for all occasions. I also make one-off designs that you have to grab while you can. If you’d like to give papercutting a go yourself, I have a range of templates for sale in my Etsy shop which are available for instant download and if you check out my Facebook page, there’s more detailed instructions about papercutting on there for free.
